Today, I arrived at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab from Long Beach, Mississippi. When I got there I met Emily, a girl my age who is on the boat too. I also met the teacher, Jo, that is coming along she is real nice. The rest of the people seem really fun and I hope they forgive me for not listing all their names. I also met Dr.Graham. the head of the jellyfish program. He is a really nice guy and is also really fun.

They put us right to work. We helped load the sea lab stuff into the truck and when they unpacked everything on to the boat, we labeled and secured everything. As the day went on we helped out with little things around the boat. We looked around a bit, and when we found the galley (kitchen), I was in heaven! The food is excellent! Sometime after dinner we had a meeting going over how to do stuff and safety procedures. We did a safety drill and after that we went back into the boat and went over what we would be doing the next couple of days. Just as I thought I was done for the day Heather knocks on our door and asks us for our help. I didn’t mind, I was glad that I could help and be active. We moved the net clips/hooks from one net to the other (it’s more interesting than it sounds.) After that I went to my room and talked for a while. I soon got tired and the boat rocked me to sleep.
