High School:     Auburn High School, Alabama.

Angela is a junior at Auburn High School. She grew up in Auburn and describes it as a small college town with a college feel. Angela speaks highly of her school and describes both her classmates and teachers as enthusiastic. Angela was awarded the ‘Outstanding Junior Volunteer’ award in 1998 for her volunteer work at the local hospital. She enjoys reading and writing and hanging out with her best friend Hayley.

Angela exhibits a strong desire to help people, she anticipates working in a medical or science profession where she is dealing with people. She has also expressed a passion for the marine environment and the significance of human impacts of marine ecosystems. Angela hopes to gain a better understanding of marine ecosystems through her first hand experience as part of the SEAS program. She is also looking forward to sharing her knowledge with her classmates. Angela believes that this first hand experience and person to person sharing of knowledge is what makes the SEAS program so special.
